Peasant Dress

This is my version of a peasant dress. I used a free tutorial that I found online. Search peasant dress there are lots to choice from and they are all pretty much the same, slight variations. So anyone will do.

I found this dress to be pretty easy to make. The only thing that I had a slight problem with is the neck. It was hard to get it even. But once I completed the dress I was happy with the final result.

My daughter loves the dress and didn’t want to take it off. If I haven’t said yet I can’t wait for spring to get here. So, she can wear all these lovely outfits that I am going to be making.

Here are a pair of triple ruffle capris. I am so in love with how they turned out. They are not as wide as the single ruffle. They are a little heavier in the legs than I thought that they would be. But when my little girl tried them on she was able to jump and bounce around like she always does.

Here are a pair of single ruffle capris that I made using a free tutorial online. Just search ruffle pants or capris there are lots to choose from. I am so in love with how they turned out. They are nice and wide. They will be excellent for my little girl to play in once the weather is warm enough.

 This top is a store bought top with a fabric flower brooch that I made using scrap fabric from the pants.

 The fabric flower headband is the final touch to the outfit. It too is made from scraps that were left over from the pants.

I have just decided to keep track of what I am sewing for my daughter. I love the idea of seeing my progress as a beginning sewer. 

This is a store bought shirt. The skirt is my first attempt at shirring (smocking). I was a little nervous attempting but once I did the first row I realized it was very easy once I was sewing about 10 rows I steamed the elastic and it shrunk the waist.
